Girls gather on the Knight Library lawn as Bid Day activities begin. Adapting to the college lifestyle is a challenging process. However, the feeling of rejection that women face if they are not accepted into a single sorority during rush can outweigh the benefits of being a part of one. Traditionally, the formal way to rush is at the beginning of fall term. Prospective Greek life members dedicate a stress-filled week of their lives being at the beck and call of chapters that may or may not show an interest in them. The week of rush is constantly meeting and making an impression on new people, whether that be with the girls in your walking group or the current members of houses you want to join. A walking group is a group of girls who walk together to every rush event, and sometimes they are asked to all wear the same outfit for a certain occasion.

Posted By Jennifer Clogg on Apr 10, 0 comments. First-year Jennifer Clogg discusses her experience in the sorority recruitment process. My mother has talked about the incredible family of sisterhood that comes from rushing a sorority since before I can remember. Connections, fun sorority pride; I have waited patiently for my turn to begin rushing a sorority. Finally, my turn is almost here.
About a month ago, I signed up to rush. Many hopeful girls packed into the lecture-style classroom, chattering excitedly and anxiously awaiting the start of the initial discussion of what would be expected in going through the sorority rush process. I sat with three friends from my hall, two of whom I did not know were interested in rushing.
I did not know about the rest of the girls there, but I felt pretty serious about pre-rush. Where I come from, sororities are kind of a big deal. In this initial meeting, we were spoken to about behavior, dress code, and keeping an open mind.
I wanted to to create friendships that would last a lifetime. Whether its a good luck text on the day of an exam or if i need someone to talk to there are sisters always willing to help. Through that pharmacy, I hope to help immigrant families, where they can see my establishment as a place of reassurance and guidance. Sisterhood Meet and Greet
I am delighted to announce an event for our Women in Business London group. We have hosted two Women in Business events previously in Edinburgh but this is our first ever in London so let’s try and make it as amazing as our other events. We would be delighted if you came and brought some more like-minded women along with you!
Hello everyone. I was recently appointed as VP of Chapter Development which is a sisterhood office and am in desperate need of some good ideas. We have chapter meeting every Sunday night at 7. I am planning on doing two sisterhood events a month. One event on Sunday that will be designated as a Family event where girls part of the same family can get to know each other better and then one other event during the month probably on the weekend where the whole chapter can attend together.
I am just wondering if anyone has any creative ideas. I want the girls to have fun and really bond during these events.

Hey ladies! Unfortunately or not, however you think about it, our campus does not do formal recruitment. We are on a Continuous Recruitment plan. This means that everything is informal, and we are “no frills”, so not a lot of decorating, we can’t wear matching outfits, etc. Have any of you tried anything kind of like speed dating or have any suggestions as to how we could make this a fun recruitment event? Do you rush in classrooms or the student center?
You can just set up several pairs of desks facing each other and have rushees and sisters be paired You would probably want to adjust this depending on how long you have for each party. Be sure that not everyone in the room is paired the whole time because 1 if you have an uneven of sisters and rushees, you don’t want to have 3 rushees standing by themselves and 2 not every rushee will like the setup.
I don’t understand though, if your campus doesn’t have formal you should be able to be as frilly or unfrilly as you want Yeah, I’ve never understood exactly how the campus came up with their set of rules. However, one of them is no frills, which don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing.
